6.5-Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Northwest Venezuela
A 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck northwestern Venezuela early this morning.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Reuters reported that the European-mediterranean Seismological Center confirmed a 6.5-magnitude earthquake in Zulia state, located in northwestern Venezuela.
The quake was strong enough for residents of Caracas, venezuela’s capital, to feel it.
Ther are no reports yet on casualties or possible damage caused by the earthquake.
The United states Geological Survey measured the quake at magnitude 6.2.According to their report,it occurred at a depth of 7.8 kilometers and was located 24 kilometers from an oil town within Zulia-a sparsely populated area.
