Iraqi Prime Minister Announces ‘Historic Agreement’ with Kurdistan Region
Mohammad Shia al-Sudani announced a “historic agreement” with the Kurdistan Region,emphasizing that Baghdad will now receive and export the region’s oil.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Alsumaria,Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani announced on Thursday that an agreement has been reached under which the federal government’s Ministry of Oil will receive and export oil produced in the kurdistan Region.
Al-Sudani wrote on X: “Today we achieved a historic agreement whereby the federal Ministry of Oil will receive crude oil produced from fields located in the Kurdistan Region and export it through Iraq-Turkey pipeline.”
He added,”This ensures fair wealth distribution,diversifies export routes,and encourages investment.”
The Iraqi Prime Minister noted, “This is an achievement we have waited 18 years for.”
