Germany: Ready to Negotiate a New Agreement with Iran
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Germany’s Foreign Ministry claimed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has not fulfilled its commitments under the nuclear deal and that imposing sanctions on the country was inevitable.
The German Foreign Ministry stated that Iran must never possess nuclear weapons and declared its willingness to negotiate with Iran for a new agreement.
Known as the European “E3,” Britain, Germany, and France accused Iran of violating the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA). They launched a 30-day process to activate the “snapback” mechanism. This move ignored America’s unilateral withdrawal from the deal in 2018 and also breaches by European parties.
Under U.S. pressure, on Friday, the United Nations Security Council rejected a draft resolution by Russia and China aimed at extending Resolution 2231-which supports the nuclear deal-by four votes in favor, two abstentions, and nine against.
following this rejection, illegal international sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran officially resumed today, Sunday.
