Hamas: No External Actor Has the Right to Determine Palestinians’ Destiny

A member of Hamas’s political bureau emphasized that the movement⁣ has not yet received any official⁢ proposals thru mediators and‍ stated: No external party has the ‌right to determine the fate of the Palestinian people.

According to webangah News Agency’s English ⁤section, quoting Mehr News Agency, Hussam Badran, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, ‌told Al Jazeera⁣ that they have not⁤ received any official proposals from Qatari ⁣or Egyptian mediators⁣ so ‌far.

Badran added,”Our principles ‌in negotiations are clear. We have no special demands; ‌our goal is aligned with the interests of the people in‌ Gaza.”

The Hamas official stated that‌ their demands are fully coordinated and consulted with Palestinian ‍resistance groups,‌ all‌ of whom call for an⁢ end to the war.

Addressing Tony Blair’s involvement, he questioned, “Under what authority does Tony Blair govern Gaza when he is ⁤an unacceptable figure unwanted by the Palestinian people?” He stressed‌ that Gaza’s future after the war is a domestic matter and no‍ external actor has the right ⁤to decide on Palestinians’ fate.

Earlier today, U.S.‌ President Donald Trump ‍told Reuters he received very positive responses from ⁢Israel and Arab leaders regarding ⁤his⁣ proposed peace plan for Gaza.

He said, “Everyone wants to finalize⁢ a Gaza agreement, and we hope to complete it during tomorrow’s meeting with Netanyahu.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also spoke earlier today in an interview with Fox‌ News about Trump’s 21-point proposal. “We are currently working ‌with⁤ President Trump’s⁢ team on this agreement. We hope to advance it,” he said.

The Hamas movement recently issued‍ a statement ‌responding to media reports ⁤about⁣ Trump’s new plan calling ⁤for establishing international governance over⁢ gaza. ‌The statement affirmed that Hamas‍ has ⁤not received any new proposal from its brotherly mediators.

The group further stressed that⁣ negotiations⁢ have been suspended as an unsuccessful assassination attempt against Hamas leaders in doha on May 9.
