Tragedy at Indonesian Boarding School: 65 Students Trapped Under Debris
The English section of webangah News Agency reports, citing Mehr News Agency and the Guardian, that after the collapse of an Islamic school building in Indonesia, 65 people became trapped under debris. Rescue teams are working urgently to save them.
According to media reports, at least one person has died and dozens of students have been injured in the incident.
Rescue workers, police officers, and army soldiers worked through the night. Eight hours after the collapse of Al-Khozini Islamic boarding school in Sidoarjo city, East Java, thay managed to extract eight survivors who were barely conscious from beneath the rubble.
Rescuers say additional bodies are visible through cracks in the debris and warn that casualties may rise further.
Published images show families gathered anxiously at a hospital near the site, waiting impatiently for news about their loved ones.
