The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and CBS, reported that early this Wednesday morning local time, a massive explosion shook a high-rise building in the bronx, causing part of the 20-story skyscraper to collapse.
The New york Fire Department has emphasized the continuation of rescue operations.
Images shared show extensive damage along alexander Avenue in the Mott Haven area of the borough.
The explosion was reported around 8:10 a.m. local time on Wednesday near East 135th street at 205 Alexander Avenue.
The blast sent bricks, air conditioning units, and other debris crashing onto surrounding buildings, sidewalks, and streets below.
