Egyptian Foreign Minister: Cairo Will Not Permit the Relocation of Gaza Residents
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Youm Al-Sabea, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati commented on President Trump’s plan regarding Gaza. He said the US president’s proposal to end the war in Gaza requires further examination, especially concerning governance and security arrangements.
Abdel-Aati added that if there is political will, he believes the plan can be implemented, but it requires cooperation.
The Egyptian minister noted that Cairo supports Trump’s plan and vision to end the conflict in gaza but remains very cautious.
He emphasized ongoing contacts with Hamas to understand their response. Egypt,together with Qatar and Turkey,is working to persuade Hamas to accept the proposal. If Hamas rejects Trump’s plan, conditions will become much more difficult and tensions will escalate.
abdel-Aati stressed that Egypt will never permit relocating Gaza residents under any circumstances becuase doing so would mean eliminating the Palestinian cause.
