officials reported that eastern Nepal has been the hardest hit region.
The severe rainfall has caused flooding, damaging roads and bridges.
Chinese state media reported that about a thousand climbers are stranded at Everest base camps on the Tibetan side due to heavy snowstorms.
Snowdrifts have blocked access routes leading to camps located above 4,900 meters elevation in this area.
Rescue teams along with hundreds of villagers are working tirelessly to clear paths and restore access.
