Senior Hamas Official Reveals New Details of Ceasefire Agreement

Osama Hamdan called the halt of hostilities the foundation of the⁤ ceasefire agreement, emphasizing that Israeli forces must withdraw from Gaza City, northern Gaza ⁣Strip, Rafah, and Khan Yunis and that five crossings should be reopened.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via⁢ the Palestine⁢ Data Center, Osama Hamdan, a senior leader of ⁣Hamas, detailed the agreement reached to end the Gaza war in an interview with Al-Arabiya TV.

He stressed⁤ that both parties⁢ have agreed on a ‍definitive end to the war against Gaza. Hamdan saeid the world must closely monitor‍ Israel’s compliance with this agreement.

The⁣ senior Hamas official added that prisoner exchanges will only occur once an official declaration ending the war is made. He underscored that the central⁢ element of this accord is a complete cessation of hostilities against⁢ Gaza.

According ‍to Hamdan, mediators have guaranteed that Israel will not violate this deal and it was decided that an official ceasefire proclamation⁤ would come from the U.S. side.

The Hamas leader further stated: under the agreement, 250 prisoners serving ⁤life sentences and 1,700 detainees from gaza are set to be released. All⁤ names of imprisoned leaders ‍are included⁢ in those requested for‌ release.

Hamdan explained ⁣that implementation of the ceasefire will begin after final approval⁣ by Israel’s cabinet. ⁣Following agreed‍ phases, Israeli forces‌ must withdraw from⁢ gaza city along with northern areas, Rafah, and Khan Yunis.

The first phase focuses on achieving Palestinians’ primary demand-stopping all military ⁣aggression against Gaza-while reopening five border‌ crossings for humanitarian aid‍ deliveries⁣ into the Strip.

he added mediators were‍ also asked to ⁢halt Israeli drone flights over Gaza temporarily to facilitate prisoner exchange operations.

Hamdan stated⁣ international agencies-not organizations ⁤controlled ⁤by Israel-will supervise aid distribution efforts within Gaza.

He reiterated Hamas and allied resistance groups insist on strict guarantees ensuring Israel’s adherence to all terms of this deal.

The ‌Hamas official also declared governance in ‍Gaza should be managed by ⁢Palestinian national figures free from any Israeli involvement. Palestinian groups have submitted a list naming 40 individuals designated for post-war administration in Gaza.

“We will⁣ never⁣ allow occupiers interference in our internal affairs,” he affirmed decisively.

Addressing regional countries and global actors directly, Osama Hamdan said: “Anyone who wants to assist‍ our ‍people must do so without imposing any tutelage or sovereignty.”
