Hamas: The Palestinian Nation Will Not Rest Until the Last Prisoner Is Freed
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and the Palestinian Shehab news Agency, Hamas issued a statement on the occasion of a prisoner exchange operation between Palestinian resistance groups and the Zionist regime. The statement announced that Al-Qassam Brigades and resistance forces in gaza would release 20 Zionist prisoners held by the resistance. This move is part of implementing the first phase of Trump’s plan to halt hostilities in Gaza.
The statement emphasized Hamas’s commitment to its obligations and highlighted the importance of mediators’ efforts to compel the Zionist enemy to fulfill its commitments under this agreement and complete all its provisions.
It added that freeing their heroic prisoners, including those sentenced to life imprisonment or harsh penalties who have spent decades behind bars, is a result of the courage and perseverance of their great nation in Gaza and its brave fighters in resistance. This loyalty is a pact with their people and prisoners, embodying an unbreakable will for freedom against new Nazi-like oppression.
Hamas further stated that despite two years of genocide and destruction in Gaza by Netanyahu and the Zionist army, they failed by force to free their own captives. Ultimately, they were compelled to accept terms set by the resistance.
The statement noted that despite Netanyahu’s criminal efforts and his terrorist army targeting Zionist prisoners, Hamas spared no effort in protecting these captives’ lives. Meanwhile, Palestinian detainees face numerous rights violations inside Zionist prisons-including harassment, torture, and murder.
Hamas concluded by affirming that prisoner issues remain at the top priority for both their national cause and resistance movement. The Palestinian people will not find peace until every last prisoner held by Nazi-Zionists is freed-and occupation over their land and sacred sites ends.
