Palestinian Prisoner’s Harrowing Account of Torture in Israeli Prisons
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Yemenn Net via mehr News Agency, Abdullah Farhan, a Palestinian prisoner recently released under an agreement between Hamas and israel, reported that they were subjected to physical beatings in Israeli prisons.
He added that the Israeli military fired plastic bullets at them inside the prison. The guards also threw stun grenades toward the prisoners.
The Palestinian detainee stated that prisoners were given only one spoonful of rice per day and one egg was allocated for every four inmates.
This inhumane treatment contrasts sharply with the condition of Israeli captives held in Gaza’s devastated and blockaded territory, who were reportedly healthy both physically and psychologically upon their release.
On Monday, following the frist phase of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, hundreds of Palestinian prisoners endured years behind bars before being freed from Israeli jails and transferred to Ramallah and Gaza Strip.
