Medvedev: Russia Must Prepare for Every Scenario
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Secretary of Russia’s Security Council, commented Saturday on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s unsuccessful visit to the United states, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing RIA Novosti via Mehr News Agency.
Medvedev stated that the US decision not to supply long-range Tomahawk missiles does not signal an end to new weapons deliveries to Kyiv.
He emphasized that former US President Donald Trump’s refusal to provide Tomahawk missiles is not a final halt in arming Ukraine and warned that Russia must be ready for any possible scenario.
This follows Axios’ earlier report quoting sources who said that during his meeting with Zelensky, Trump expressed reluctance to supply Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv.
The report noted that Trump clearly stated his current priority is diplomacy and believed providing Tomahawks would undermine diplomatic efforts.
Trump also told Zelensky at the White House that Washington needs its own stockpile of Tomahawks and certain other weapons currently supplied to Ukraine.
