Zionist Writer: Israel Will Collapse from Within

According to the English section of webangah⁢ News Agency, quoting Mehr‌ News Agency and⁤ Quds News Agency, aryeh Shavit, a political analyst​ and Zionist writer, warned that⁢ if Haredim (ultra-Orthodox Jews) ‍do not serve in the military, Israel will disintegrate from within.

His remarks came after millions of Haredi party supporters held protests last ​Thursday against mandatory conscription for their⁤ followers into the Israeli army.

The Zionist author added⁣ that leaders of the Haredi factions must understand that preserving their existence requires accepting obligation ‍and fulfilling ⁤their duties toward the Israeli​ cabinet.⁢ However, what has happened so far is quite the ⁢opposite.

He also ​noted that Rabbi Isaac Yosef, head of ⁢the Haredi community in ‌the occupied territories, urged every young Haredi⁤ who receives a⁣ draft notice to tear it up and ​throw it in the trash.

The Israeli writer saeid that ⁤over the past‍ two years, ‍actions by haredi institutions, rabbis,​ and politicians have fractured society; mass evasion of military⁢ service or open defiance against government authority can no longer be tolerated.

Last ​Thursday, hundreds of thousands of Orthodox jews ‍staged protests at Jerusalem’s entrances against compulsory service in what they call ​”the occupying army.” These demonstrations took place amid​ reports from occupation forces about​ widespread⁣ closures at city entrances and major streets.
