Putin: Sport Bridges Nations and Symbolizes Global Unity

According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing TV BRICS, Russian President Vladimir Putin participated in the 13th International sports Forum titled “Russia: A Sporting Power.” He highlighted the importent role of sports in strengthening solidarity among nations and promoting international cooperation.
The forum was held under the slogan “Sports for the Future; Victory Together,” with TV BRICS serving as its international media partner.
President Putin stated, “Sport is a global language among nations. Its power to build understanding, friendship, and mutual respect across peoples worldwide is unparalleled. Russia consistently supports equal cooperation, respects national interests, and values cultural diversity.”
He also stressed the growing influence of new technologies in advancing sports: ”Alongside traditional disciplines, Russia actively promotes emerging fields such as phygital (physical-digital) sports and e-sports.”
Following this, Russia’s Minister of Sports Mikhail Degtyarev identified developing sports infrastructure as a government priority. He noted that thousands of new sports complexes have opened nationwide and said hundreds more centers and schools will be built over the next three years under Russia’s comprehensive “Sport Russia” programme.
At this international gathering, foreign participants underscored the importance of collaboration in sport.Nasser Ridan Thamer Almutairi, Secretary-General of Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), described sport as a tool for economic growth and sustainable development. He announced plans to establish a working group tasked with drafting a roadmap for sporting cooperation.
Ancilm Sanyatoveh,Zimbabwe’s Minister of Sport,Recreation,Arts & Culture praised bilateral ties between Zimbabwe and Russia. He emphasized continuing sporting and cultural partnerships based on mutual respect.
Alfred Fulokuo, Chairman of Zambia’s National Olympic Committee, highlighted investing in youth through sport: “Digitalization has created new opportunities to nurture athletic talent and connect Africa with the global sporting community. Africa’s greatest asset is its youth; by investing in them through sport we not only develop future champions but also future leaders.”
The International Forum “Russia: A Sporting Power” was established by presidential decree in 2009. It has since become one of world sport’s most significant annual events.
