Pentagon’s Largest Aircraft Carrier Arrives in Latin America

Media report teh arrival of the Pentagon’s largest aircraft carrier in Latin America, citing a dubious pretext of bolstering U.S. military presence in the Southern Command region.
The U.S. Navy announced that the USS Gerald R. Ford, the Pentagon’s largest aircraft carrier, along with its strike group, entered Latin american waters today, Tuesday.
The United States claims this deployment aims to strengthen military presence within the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) area-an explanation viewed by many as provocative and tension-raising.
The USS Gerald R. Ford carries over 4,000 sailors and dozens of tactical aircraft.
In recent weeks, under the guise of combating drug trafficking and contrary to international law, the U.S. has stationed troops in the caribbean near its border with Venezuela. Additionally, it has conducted 17 operations against boats in both the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific ocean.
