Germany Condemns Mosque Arson in West Bank

The German Foreign Ministry has condemned the intentional burning of a mosque in the West Bank and expressed deep concern over escalating settler violence, according to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Al Jazeera.
The statement says: “Settler violence in the West Bank must stop immediately. Comprehensive investigations into these incidents should be conducted, and those responsible must be held accountable.”
On Thursday, Israeli settlers set fire to parts of a mosque northwest of Salfit city in the West Bank and spray-painted racist slogans on its walls.
Intervention by local Palestinians prevented total destruction, but several copies of the Quran and parts of the mosque’s walls were burned.
The torching of Al-Hajja Hamida Mosque by settlers drew condemnation from many Palestinian groups,including Hamas,as well as from the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf (Religious Endowments).
The ministry described this act as a heinous crime that violates all international laws and customs protecting sacred sites.
Hamas also condemned the attack, emphasizing that it desecrated Muslim religious sentiments. The movement called for immediate international action against such violations.
