Government Spokesperson: We Seek to Develop and Strengthen Relations with Russia

according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Fatemeh Mohajerani, the government spokesperson, stated in an exclusive interview with Al Mayadeen that the Islamic Republic of Iran has received messages from mediators.
She warned that if the opposing side repeats its mistakes, Iran’s response will be stronger and harsher than before.
Mohajerani stressed that Iran does not grant any party leniency when it comes to defending its people’s lives, territorial integrity, and national sovereignty.
She added that strengthening Iran’s missile capabilities within a defensive framework is natural. Tehran is taking steps to address vulnerabilities exposed by the recent attack.
The spokesperson also emphasized that Iran cooperates with the International Atomic energy Agency within the framework of the Non-Proliferation treaty.Tehran’s engagement with the agency is based on national interests and domestic laws.
She noted that following European countries’ activation of the snapback mechanism, Iran has declared it will manage its relations with these countries according to national interests.
Mohajerani reported signs of improving relations with some European nations including Germany.
She added that amid confrontations with interventionist approaches, prioritizing development of ties with neighboring countries, cooperation with international organizations, and strengthening Iran’s economy remains crucial.
the spokesperson underscored that parties involved in Gaza ceasefire agreements are responsible for ensuring their implementation. She said having resistance forces present in a country neighboring what she described as a “fake regime” is essential.
Mohajerani also referred to expanding ties with Russia as a neighboring country and revealed cooperation between Tehran and Moscow on nuclear energy projects.
She stated that Iran maintains extensive relations with Russia and China because both are BRICS members and regional powers.
