Egyptian and Russian Foreign Ministers Consult on Iran’s Nuclear Program

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Saturday that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a phone call.
The statement from Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Lavrov consulted with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry regarding Iran’s nuclear program during the call.
Meanwhile, according to the Russian side, the two foreign ministers discussed the situation surrounding Iran’s nuclear activities. Both emphasized the need to prevent any further escalation of tensions.
Earlier, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that its foreign minister held separate telephone conversations with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi. The discussions focused on recent developments related to Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities.
The phone calls also addressed recent regional developments.
