Chinese Premier Calls for Strengthened Beijing-Moscow Cooperation within Shanghai Framework

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Xinhua via Mehr News Agency, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said during a bilateral meeting with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin that they need to strengthen practical cooperation to accelerate the development of all member states within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and increase its influence on the global stage.
He added that Beijing is ready to work with Moscow to implement the Shanghai development roadmap.
The Chinese official also stressed the importance of supporting Global South countries and establishing a multipolar world based on justice and inclusive economic growth.
In recent years, following the outbreak of war in ukraine, Russia and China have sought to counter sanctions and restrictions imposed by Western countries within the SCO framework.
Many experts regard the Shanghai Cooperation organization as an eastern counterpart to NATO (the North Atlantic Treaty Organization).
