UN Pledges Investigation into Systematic Executions in Al-Fashir

Tam Fletcher, the UN Deputy Secretary-general for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, issued a statement affirming efforts to reach El Fasher. He described delivering aid to El Fasher as a daunting task.
Fletcher added that El Fasher will be treated as a crime scene for investigations into reports of executions and systematic arrests.
He emphasized the urgent need to establish secure access routes for humanitarian workers entering El Fasher and for survivors evacuating the area.
earlier, the Sudan Doctors’ Network reported over 30 cases of sexual assault against girls in El Fasher within one week following an attack by Rapid Support Forces on the city.
The network explained that some assaults occurred after RSF forces entered El Fasher, while others happened as victims tried to flee toward Al-Tawila.
The organization condemned repeated instances of sexual violence against women and girls in El Fasher, holding Rapid Support Forces responsible.
