Araghchi: We Are Better Prepared Than in Previous War; Support a Fair Agreement

Iran’s Foreign Minister declares teh‍ country is better prepared than before for war ⁢and supports a⁤ fair agreement.

Iran’s Foreign⁤ Minister⁢ Seyed Abbas ⁤Araghchi told⁣ The Economist in an interview that the country is more prepared than during the previous conflict,‍ with improvements‌ in⁣ both the quantity and quality‍ of its missiles.

“We‍ do not seek war,” he ⁤said, “but the‌ best way to prevent it⁤ is indeed‍ to ‍be ready for it.”

Araghchi emphasized‌ that the Islamic Republic supports a fair and balanced ‌agreement. ‍He added,‍ “The Americans wont to dictate their demands.”

The minister reflected‌ on lessons‌ learned during the‌ 12-day war, noting, “We ⁢identified our strengths and weaknesses and also those of Israel. We have worked on all these areas and⁤ are fully prepared- even more so than last time.”

Responding to a recent anti-Iran resolution passed by the IAEA Board of ‍Governors, Araghchi criticized those ⁤countries for undermining the agency’s ‌credibility and independence by ignoring ⁤Iran’s⁢ goodwill efforts. He said their actions ‌disrupt ⁤cooperation between Iran and the IAEA.

“Today,” he stated in⁢ an official letter to the IAEA Director General, “we declared that ⁤this understanding is no longer valid‍ and shoudl be‍ considered terminated.”
