Lebanon’s President: The World Must Pressure Israel
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Al Mayadeen via Mehr News Agency,Lebanese President Joseph Aoun emphasized that the international community must pressure the Israeli regime to force it to stop its aggressions against Lebanon.
Aoun added that the international community, especially the european Union, should pressure Tel Aviv to comply with the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
during a meeting with the EU Special Representative, he stated that Lebanon welcomes any support from the European Union, particularly following UNIFIL forces’ withdrawal in 2027.
He stressed that strengthening the Lebanese army is crucial according to Europe because it can maintain national security. Preserving Lebanon’s security is equivalent to preserving Europe’s security.
Aoun also reiterated his position that weapons in Lebanon should be exclusively controlled by its goverment.
