New York Mayor-Elect: Trump Is a Fascist and Autocrat
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Zehran Mamdani, New york’s mayor-elect, stated in an interview with NBC news on Sunday that he still considers former U.S. President Donald Trump a “fascist” and “autocrat.” However, he described their first face-to-face meeting at the White House on Friday as an “opportunity” to collaborate on reducing living costs for New Yorkers.
Mamdani told NBC anchor Kristen Welker that his view of the president remains unchanged.
He added, ”This is what I have said before and still believe today. What I valued about my conversation with the president was that we did not shy away from our differences or from discussing policies that have brought us to this point. We also wanted to focus on jointly analyzing how to address the financial hardship crisis facing New Yorkers.”
Mamdani referenced his past critical remarks about Trump, telling Welker: “I stand by everything I’ve said before. I don’t go to the Oval Office just to make a point or take a stance-I go there to serve New Yorkers.”
