Rapid Response Commander Approves Three-Month Ceasefire in Sudan

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Al Jazeera reported that Mohamed Hamdan Hamideti, commander of Sudan’s Rapid support Forces, announced his agreement to a humanitarian ceasefire lasting three months, which includes a complete halt to military operations.
He added that this ceasefire responds to international efforts, especially an initiative by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The report stated that Hamideti described the war as exhausting the people of Sudan and said stopping the bloodshed had become an urgent necessity.
He emphasized that the ceasefire aims to enhance protection for civilians, facilitate humanitarian aid delivery, and offer hope to those harmed by the conflict.
Hamideti called on the Group of Four mediators to play their part in encouraging all parties to support this measure.
He also stressed his forces’ commitment to enabling humanitarian work and fully cooperating with the United Nations and relief organizations to alleviate hardship for Sudan’s population.
