Central African Republic Defense Minister: Russian Aid Has Halted Violence in the Country

According too the English section of webangah News Agency,quoting Russia Today,Claude Biro told the Russian news agency novosti: “The achievement of peace adn stability in the Central African Republic was primarily possible thanks to Russia and Russian experts.”
He added, “During our short cooperation with russia, we not only halted violence against civilians by criminal groups but also restored hope among our citizens that a future without fear for themselves and their children is absolutely possible in the Central African Republic.”
It is worth noting that President Faustin-Archange Touadéra requested security assistance from Russia in 2017.
In response, Russia supplied weapons and ammunition and deployed military and civilian experts who trained thousands of security personnel.
Russia also played a mediating role in 2019 during the signing of a peace agreement between the government of the Central African Republic and opposing groups.
Within military cooperation between the two countries, their defense ministries are exploring establishing a Russian military base on Central African territory.
