UN Secretary-General Warns of Escalating Illegal Settlements in West Bank

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned during the opening session of the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People that the expansion of illegal settlements by the Zionist regime in the occupied West Bank is on the rise. Guterres emphasized that these actions sever the northern and southern parts of the West Bank, dealing a severe blow to the two-state solution. He also condemned the demolitions, displacements, and expulsions in the region.
The UN chief further stated that these settlement projects weaken territorial contiguity and jeopardize the feasibility of a two-state solution. He strongly condemned the actions of Israeli authorities in demolishing the Sheikh Jarrah compound and targeting the UN Relief and Works Agency in occupied East Jerusalem.
