Hamas Denounces Brutal Torture of Palestinian Prisoners in Ofer Prison as War Crime

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has vehemently condemned the savage abuse of Palestinian detainees in Israel’s Ofer Prison, captured in recently released footage, branding the acts as clear violations of international humanitarian law.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has strongly denounced the images published by the Zionist regime depicting the brutal torture of Palestinian prisoners at the Ofer Prison. These actions were reportedly conducted under the supervision of Itamar Ben-Gvir, the regime’s Minister of National Security.

Hamas issued a press statement labeling these practices as a “new war crime and an open challenge to the international humanitarian laws pertaining to prisoners.” The movement argued that the global community’s silence regarding these atrocities, alongside the approval of the death penalty law, emboldens the occupiers to continue their path of genocide and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian nation, encouraging them to escalate savage acts within detention centers.

The statement stressed the accountability of international bodies and world governments in restraining the occupiers and halting their crimes within the prisons. Hamas called for immediate action at all levels to safeguard Palestinian prisoners and ensure the occupiers are held responsible for their offenses. Furthermore, Hamas affirmed its commitment, stating that “the prisoners are a trust upon our shoulders, and we will not abandon their just cause until their freedom.”

Prior to this condemnation, Israel’s Channel Seven television network had broadcast footage showing Zionist soldiers, accompanied by Itamar Ben-Gvir, raiding the cells of Palestinian detainees. The footage reportedly included the deployment of chemical and sonic grenades and the targeting of prisoners with weapons. The report also indicated that Ben-Gvir had warned Palestinian prisoners against any unrest during the month of Ramadan, boasting about the suppressions carried out in the prisons and threatening the execution of Palestinian detainees.
