Kurdistan Region President Barzani and German Envoy Discuss Regional Stability and Bilateral Ties

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, hosted Jörg Eichmann, German Deputy Foreign Minister, on Wednesday. The meeting focused on ways to bolster relations between Germany, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the latest developments in Iraq, relations between Erbil and Baghdad, and the regional situation.

The German Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized Germany’s commitment to stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, expressing Berlin’s desire to continue joint cooperation across various sectors. President Barzani, in turn, acknowledged Germany’s assistance and support for the Kurdistan Region in all areas. He stressed the importance of the peaceful resolution of problems and the preservation of regional security and stability.

During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on threats posed by the activities of the terrorist group ISIS, developments in Syria, and other matters of mutual interest.
