Cuba Vows to Defend Sovereignty Against Foreign Aggression

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel affirmed Havana’s full preparedness to counter foreign threats in a message posted on the social network ‘X’.
Díaz-Canel stated, “We will decisively defend the country against any terrorist attack on our national sovereignty.” This firm stance comes in the wake of an exchange of gunfire between occupants of an American boat and the Cuban Coast Guard.
Earlier, the Cuban Ministry of Interior reported that a boat flying a U.S. flag entered Cuban territorial waters and opened fire. According to the ministry’s statement, Cuban defense forces responded with retaliatory fire, resulting in the deaths of four occupants of the boat.
The statement emphasized that the incident occurred after violations of Cuba’s maritime sovereignty and the firing of shots from the aggressor boat.
