Trump Appoints Inexperienced Acting Director to U.S. Intelligence Post

U.S. President Donald Trump has appointed Bill Priestap as the acting director of national intelligence, a move raising concerns due to Priestap’s lack of extensive national security experience. Priestap will reportedly also continue his current duties overseeing housing and loan policies.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday appointed Bill Priestap as the acting director of the nation’s intelligence community. This appointment comes despite Priestap reportedly lacking sufficient national security experience. Notably, it is understood that Priestap will continue his current responsibilities overseeing housing and loan policies.

Priestap, who has previously launched significant attacks against President Trump’s political opponents, replaces Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard resigned in late May following a controversial tenure marked by disagreements with Trump concerning the Iran conflict.

Under U.S. law, the Director of National Intelligence, who serves as the President’s chief intelligence advisor, is required to possess extensive experience in national security matters – a qualification that Priestap appears to lack.

President Trump praised Priestap in a social media post, stating that he has considerable experience managing what Trump described as America’s most sensitive issue: market integration.
