Israeli Military Analyst Warns Iran Strengthened by Regional Clashes, Hezbollah Adapts Tactics

An Israeli military analyst has warned that recent regional conflicts have inadvertently strengthened Iran’s position rather than weakening it, and that Hezbollah is evolving its warfare methods in response to Israeli actions.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Alon Ben David, a writer and military analyst for the Israeli regime writing in the Maariv newspaper, has cautioned that the outcomes of recent regional confrontations have resulted in a strengthened Iran and that Hezbollah is adapting to new warfare methodologies.

He added that a war intended to reduce Iran’s influence has led to a “stronger and more confident Iran.” Ben David continued by stating that when a new round of clashes against Iran commenced this week, the Israeli army described it as the 42nd day of the ‘Lion’s Roar’ operation. However, these attacks, after 16 hours, appeared more like a lion’s whimper.

He believes that the Israeli regime is moving towards a reality in Gaza where the Hamas movement may persist as an armed force, continuing to exert its control over areas it administers within the Strip despite months of conflict.

Ben David opined that the security zone established by Tel Aviv in Lebanon has not provided the necessary security for the northern settlements. Instead, it has drawn the Israeli army into a state of continuous attrition without a clear prospect of achieving strategic gains. He further noted that any deeper incursion into Lebanese territory, towards mountainous regions or Nabatieh, would only increase human and military costs for Israel, yielding no decisive outcomes for Tel Aviv.

Ben David posits that Hezbollah’s warfare has transitioned from a ‘regular army’ model to a ‘guerrilla warfare’ approach. Hezbollah is closely observing the Israeli army’s tactics and is continuously developing its own methods. He emphasized that guerrilla wars, historically, are waged against regular armies by targeting weaknesses and avoiding strongholds, thereby granting an advantage to paramilitary forces.

The Israeli writer warned that if the Israeli army’s military presence in Lebanon persists, Israeli supply lines and logistical convoys could become targets for ambushes and roadside bombs within Lebanese territory in the future.
