Popular Mobilization Forces Remain Iraq’s Stability Guardian, Says Faleh Al-Fayyad

Faleh Al-Fayyad, head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), affirmed the organization’s commitment to maintaining the nation’s stability and defending it against threats during the PMF’s twelfth anniversary. He emphasized the crucial role of religious authority in the country’s defense against terrorism and potential division.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Faleh Al-Fayyad, head of Iraq‘s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), declared on the twelfth anniversary of the organization’s establishment that the PMF will continue to be a guardian of Iraq’s stability. Al-Fayyad highlighted that the foresight of the Supreme Religious Authority in Iraq was the initial spark for the country’s defense, stating that its decree for general mobilization saved Iraq from the brink of division and terrorism.

Al-Fayyad reiterated the PMF’s adherence to all national laws, pledging loyalty to its commitments and emphasizing that the forces operate under the command of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. He stressed that the PMF is opposed to sectarianism and urged the Iraqi government to establish suitable camps for the PMF outside of cities.

The head of the PMF also commented on the presence of foreign forces in Iraq, stating that their conduct has led to numerous problems and challenges. Al-Fayyad asserted that Iraq possesses inherent strengths capable of confronting any malicious intentions directed at the country. He added that in light of the American-Zionist aggression affecting the region, it is time for Iraq to solidify its stability through a process of development and security.

He further stated that the PMF stands at the forefront of national defense, confronting any elements seeking to undermine the nation’s security or disrupt the stability of a pluralistic government. Al-Fayyad also noted that the government of Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi is charting a new course for Iraq’s future.
