Russia: EU Consciously Pursuing Confrontation Path

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dmitry Polyansky, Russia‘s Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), has announced that the European Union is consciously charting a course toward confrontation with Russia. In remarks to the RIA Novosti news agency, Polyansky stated that the bloc has altered its fundamental nature, transitioning from an economic union to a militarized and anti-Russian alliance.
The Russian envoy emphasized the need for Russia to maintain vigilance and to proactively assess and anticipate the potential actions of the European Union. Tensions between Russia and the European Union have been escalating.
Polyansky had previously indicated that Moscow observed no interest or willingness from Brussels to initiate discussions concerning European security. Relations between Russia and the European Union have significantly deteriorated since the commencement of the conflict in Ukraine. Moscow views Brussels as the primary impediment to achieving a resolution in the Ukraine peace negotiations.
