Tucker Carlson: Iran’s Regional and International Standing Strengthened

American commentator Tucker Carlson has criticized Israel’s influence on U.S. policy, stating that recent conflicts have inadvertently bolstered Iran’s position on the global stage and arguing for a fundamental shift in the U.S. political landscape.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, renowned American host and analyst Tucker Carlson has launched sharp criticisms against the Israeli regime, asserting that its influence within the U.S. political structure guides Washington’s policies toward its own interests. Speaking to the Columbia Journalism School’s magazine, Carlson noted that after abstaining from public commentary on Israel for nearly three decades, the recent 12-day conflict between Iran and the Israeli regime served as a turning point, compelling him to break his silence on Tel Aviv’s policies.

Carlson, who has made numerous visits to the occupied territories, stated, “I did not consider Israel important from the perspective of U.S. national interests, but when it infiltrates our political system and harms America, one can no longer remain indifferent.”

The American host clarified that the recent war against Iran was not initiated to halt the country’s nuclear program. Instead, he contended, it was the first step in a project aimed at regime change in Iran, a plan he suggested contradicts Donald Trump’s campaign promises to end foreign wars. Carlson also pointed to the period when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House during Trump’s second presidential term, observing that the U.S. administration then aligned its political capital with the interests of the Israeli regime, which prompted his public opposition to this trend.

Carlson further asserted that Israel pushed the United States toward confrontation with Iran. He revealed that he had repeatedly warned Trump that attempts at regime change in Iran would not only fail to result in a Western-aligned government but would also trigger extensive and prolonged crises in the region. The American analyst identified influential pro-Israeli capitalists and figures such as John Paulson, Miriam Adelson, and Robert Murdoch as being among the most impactful on Trump’s decisions regarding Iran, alleging that these individuals pressured the U.S. President to attack Iran.

Reflecting on the outcomes of the recent conflict, Carlson stated, “The Israeli regime imagined it would become the undisputed power in the region after this war, but the results unfolded contrary to Tel Aviv’s calculations, and Iran’s standing in regional and international equations was strengthened.” He criticized the Israeli regime’s reliance on military tools, adding, “Instead of employing diplomacy, Tel Aviv has excessively depended on military power and security operations, which has led to strategic detriment for the regime.”

Carlson also addressed the “discriminatory system” in the occupied territories, noting that he had criticized this issue for years, but the recent conflict prompted him to voice his positions publicly. He concluded by criticizing the U.S. political structure, calling for the formation of a third political party. He argued that the U.S. political system is moving towards “one-party rule,” and contrary to Trump’s electoral promises, voters are now facing policies that continue America’s foreign interventions.
