Tucker Carlson Warns Trump That Iran Conflict Could End Presidency

American commentator Tucker Carlson has advised Donald Trump that a potential war with Iran could critically damage his political standing and the future of the ‘Make America Great Again’ movement. Carlson drew parallels to the impact of the Iraq War and the 2008 financial crisis on previous presidencies.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Tucker Carlson, an American commentator and analyst who officially left the Republican Party this week, told Sky News that he had warned Donald Trump early in the potential conflict with Iran that such a war could harm his legacy. Carlson stated, “Of course, this is the end of it… and I told him this in February. I said something that he already knew. I mean, Trump is smart, and I didn’t tell him anything he didn’t know and understand.”

Commenting on the impact of a war with Iran on the future of the ‘Make America Great Again’ (MAGA) movement, which forms the core base of support for Donald Trump in America, Carlson asserted that the movement’s time is also running out. He emphasized that “the MAGA movement has no future” and that war would ultimately destroy it.

Meanwhile, a poll conducted by The Economist in collaboration with YouGov revealed that Trump’s approval rating this week stood at only 37 percent. Conversely, with the midterm elections approaching in November, opposition to the president has risen to approximately 60 percent.

Carlson pointed to how the 2003 invasion of Iraq and the 2008 financial collapse overshadowed the administration of George W. Bush, leading to various initiatives being forgotten. Addressing Trump directly, Carlson remarked, “What do you know the Bush presidency for? The Iraq War and the 2008 financial collapse. These are the facts everyone recounts. You will be the same regarding the war with Iran.”

Carlson departed the Republican Party earlier this week, stating there was no chance of supporting the party before the midterm elections. He had endorsed Trump in 2024 but, after the commencement of the conflict with Iran, apologized for his support and for “misleading people,” claiming it was unintentional.

He has repeatedly criticized war as a request from Israel, detrimental to Americans, arguing that decisions are made based on other criteria, such as the interests of major corporations, Israel, and their financiers.
