Global Media Focuses on Solemn Farewell to Iran’s Martyred Leader

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, regional and international media, particularly from Arab nations, are closely following the farewell ceremony for Iran‘s martyred leader, emphasizing the large public participation. Al-Manar network reported live on the event, noting that Iranians began gathering at the Musalla of Tehran from the early morning hours for the farewell ceremony. The gates of the Musalla opened at dawn, allowing attendees to perform the morning prayer in congregation. As the ceremony commenced, a red flag bearing the inscription ‘Ya Lasarat al-Hussein (AS)’ was raised over the Musalla.
Al-Mayadeen network reported that the public procession for Iran’s martyred leader commenced for the second day in Tehran. Al-Masirah also broadcast the farewell ceremony live from Tehran.
Al Jazeera’s website, in its report on the farewell ceremony for Iran’s martyred leader in Tehran, stated that Iran anticipates holding the largest funeral procession in its history. The first day of the ceremony began on Thursday with the leader’s coffin placed before a large crowd, accompanied by mourning chants and the throwing of flowers into the gathering. Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, paid their respects to the deceased leader. International participation in the ceremony is categorized into three levels: the general public who have traveled to Tehran from around the world, prominent figures including academics, religious scholars, media representatives, and members of resistance groups, and finally, official delegations.
Yesterday’s ceremony saw several high-ranking officials attend the Imam Khomeini Mosque to bid farewell to the late leader. Among them were Iraqi President Nechirvan Barzani, Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament Hibt al-Halbusi, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Nechirvan Barzani, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan Asim Munir, and Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili.
