Cuban President Declares U.S. the Real Threat, Not Cuba

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has asserted that the United States, not Cuba, poses a threat, in response to accusations from Washington regarding national security. He highlighted the impact of U.S. sanctions on the island’s infrastructure and energy sector.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has stated that Cuba is not a threat, but rather the United States constitutes the threat, via a social media post. This statement from the Cuban President comes in reaction to U.S. allegations that Cuba is a threat to American national security.
Díaz-Canel added that the disruption of Cuba’s national energy and electricity systems, occurring shortly after previous outages, is making repairs difficult. However, he noted that the country’s electricity sector forces have not surrendered. He also characterized the oil blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba as genocide.
The island nation has experienced two nationwide blackouts recently.
