European Gas Prices Hit Four-Month High Amid Regional Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, European gas prices have reached a four-month peak due to escalating regional conflicts, The Guardian reported. Data published by the London Stock Exchange revealed that futures contracts for gas at the Dutch TTF hub traded at $716 per thousand cubic meters, a level not seen since March 23. The report attributes this significant price increase to current tensions in the region, particularly impacting maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
This surge in gas prices follows a similar trend in crude oil. Earlier reports indicated that Brent crude oil prices surpassed the $90 per barrel mark, rising by three percent to $90.74. This rise in oil prices is also a direct consequence of the continuing regional tensions and the resulting disruptions to shipping activities in the Strait of Hormuz.
