Strait of Hormuz Shipping Sees Sharp Decline Amid U.S. Tensions with Iran

Shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has significantly decreased, with only six vessels passing through the vital waterway in the last 24 hours, according to Reuters citing Mehr News Agency. Tensions stemming from U.S. actions against Iran in the Persian Gulf region are cited as the primary cause for the disruption.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, shipping activity in the Strait of Hormuz continues to experience a severe reduction, with only six vessels navigating the strategic passage over the past day. Data released by Mehr News Agency, referencing Reuters, highlights this significant drop in maritime traffic.

The disruptions are attributed to escalating U.S. actions against Iran, particularly within the Persian Gulf. The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly emphasized that vessels must coordinate with Tehran for passage through designated routes in the Strait of Hormuz.

This impediment to shipping operations has created considerable tension within global energy supply chains, ultimately contributing to an increase in international prices.
