Hamas Calls for Curbing Netanyahu’s Obstruction of Sharm El Sheikh Agreement

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Hamas movement has issued a warning regarding the intensification of Israeli aggressions, declaring that the cabinet of Benjamin Netanyahu is endeavoring to obstruct the ceasefire agreement and the process of implementing the Sharm El Sheikh accord by perpetuating its criminal actions. Hamas characterized the recent Israeli attack as evidence of ongoing transgressions and a deliberate escalation of bloody measures, emphasizing that this action signifies the Netanyahu cabinet’s insistence on continuing its crimes and undermining efforts to consolidate the ceasefire.
The movement further stated that the synchronization of these crimes with recent meetings in Cairo and the activities of mediators indicates that Netanyahu is intentionally seeking to thwart negotiation efforts and disrupt regional and international endeavors to advance the implementation of the plan proposed by Donald Trump, the President of the United States, and the Sharm El Sheikh agreement. Hamas described this action as a clear challenge to the efforts aimed at halting tensions and achieving security and stability in the region. The movement affirmed that Hamas and other Palestinian factions are diligently and responsibly working towards the success of the agreement, an approach that was evident in recent meetings with Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and senior advisor to the U.S. President, and mediating parties.
The movement called upon the U.S. administration, mediating countries, and the guarantors of the ceasefire to compel the Israeli regime to adhere to its commitments, prevent the continuation of its crimes and the escalation of tensions, and not allow Netanyahu to disrupt the full implementation of the Sharm El Sheikh agreement. These statements were made following the Israeli regime’s overnight attack on a cafe in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza, an assault that resulted in the martyrdom of six Palestinians, including a child, and the injury of ten others. The condition of three of the injured has been reported as critical.
This renewed breach of the ceasefire occurred one day after a delegation from Hamas, led by Khalil al-Hayya, head of the movement’s political bureau, met with Jared Kushner. The attack also followed a call by Trump for a halt to Israeli regime attacks on the Gaza Strip within the framework of implementing his proposed plan. Earlier, Hazem Qasem, a Hamas spokesperson, had urged the U.S. President to apply pressure to compel the Israeli regime to abide by the agreements related to the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza peace plan. He stressed that progress toward this second phase is contingent upon obligating the Israeli side to fulfill the agreed-upon commitments.
