Iran Reportedly Considers Targeting US Military Sites in Europe, Red Sea Cables

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Financial Times has reported, citing Iranian sources, that Tehran has considered targeting U.S. military positions in Europe should tensions escalate and conflict resume under President Trump. This analysis suggests Iran is exploring the possibility of striking U.S. assets in southeastern European nations such as Bulgaria, which has reportedly agreed to allow U.S. refueling aircraft to utilize its air bases. The report further alleges that Cyprus is also considered a potential target for retaliation against U.S. transgressions. Additionally, Iran is separately examining the feasibility of targeting undersea fiber optic cables in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Financial Times indicated that the scope and intensity of Iran’s response would be contingent on U.S. conduct. The publication referenced Iran’s July strike on a U.S. base in Jordan as its most precise long-range attack to date, demonstrating its capability to hit targets at greater distances. This strike also conveyed a message to Europe, signaling that missiles could potentially reach the continent and urging caution regarding their stances in actions against Iran.
