Netanyahu Welcomes US Sanctions Against International Criminal Court Officials

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has welcomed the United States’ action to sanction Tomoko Akane, President of the International Criminal Court, and Karim Khan, its Chief Prosecutor, describing the institution as deceptive. He claimed that the aforementioned court has become a false mechanism that hides the abuse of power behind international laws, thereby undermining the foundations of justice.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced on the previous day that these sanctions had been imposed. This U.S. action comes after the ICC issued international arrest warrants in November 2024 for Netanyahu and the former war minister of the Israeli regime on charges of committing crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip. In February 2025, President Trump had previously ordered sanctions to be imposed due to the court’s actions against the United States and the Israeli regime.
