Spanish PM Links Moroccan Migrant Crisis to Israeli Interference Over Gaza Stance

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has asserted that Tel Aviv’s fingerprints are on the recent crisis in Ceuta, linking it directly to media campaigns initiated by Israeli outlets. Speaking at a press conference, Sanchez stated that a surge in media coverage originating from Israeli-affiliated pages in Morocco preceded the migrant influx into the Spanish North African territory.

Sanchez further elaborated that the intensified pressure from right-wing European parties against Spain is directly tied to the Spanish government’s firm stance against the ongoing events in Gaza. He suggested that the European Commission has also provided data indicating Israeli involvement in the migrant crisis. The Prime Minister questioned Israel’s purported interest in the migrant situation in Spain, implying it serves as a punitive action against Madrid’s opposition to what he termed the “genocide in Gaza.”.

The city of Ceuta, a Spanish territory bordering Morocco in North Africa, experienced a significant surge in migrant arrivals in late May. The Spanish Ministry of the Interior reported that approximately 72,000 individuals entered the city during that period, with the majority subsequently being returned to Morocco.

This sentiment was echoed by Spanish expert Enrique Arias Gil, who previously stated that the migrant crisis in Ceuta was orchestrated by the United States and the Israeli regime as a form of retribution for Madrid’s support of Palestine.
