Putin Hails Turkey as ‘Distinguished Partner’; Erdogan Notes Developing Relations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared on Tuesday that Turkey is a “distinguished partner” for Russia in foreign policy and economic affairs. Speaking during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek, Putin emphasized the high level of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Putin highlighted the ongoing implementation of major joint projects, including the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which Russia’s Rosatom is slated to launch in 2026. He reiterated Russia’s positive assessment of the partnership, underscoring its significance in international relations and economic exchanges.

In parallel, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed Russian President Putin, stating that the relations between Turkey and Russia have reached an unprecedentedly advanced level. Speaking at the SCO summit in Kyrgyzstan, Erdogan expressed the great importance Turkey places on the discussions held in Bishkek, noting the rapid development of bilateral relations.
