Iran Issues Stern Warning to South Korea Over US Pressure Regarding Persian Gulf Security

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a senior Iranian political-security official stated in an interview with Al Mayadeen that Iran is issuing a stern warning to South Korea. The official emphasized that Seoul should not surrender to Washington’s pressures to compel it into cooperation with illegal U.S. military operations. The official added that South Korea should not sacrifice its interests and position in favor of hostile U.S. policies against the region’s security and stability.

The Iranian official clarified that South Korea is well aware that the primary reason for insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is the American-Zionist aggression and should not overlook this reality. Tehran considers any South Korean participation against Iran in the Strait of Hormuz to be direct military participation in an attack against the country. The official asserted that Iran will never compromise with collusion in hostile crimes against its nation. The official concluded by stating that regional security will not be restored as long as illegal U.S. interventions, coupled with hostile sanctions and economic warfare against Iran, continue.

Yesterday, the office of the President of South Korea claimed that the country is reviewing various options, including military action, concerning the Strait of Hormuz, though no definitive decision has been made.
