Trump Reiterates Threats Against Iran, Claims Control Over Strait of Hormuz

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated his months-old threats of striking Iran’s nuclear installations, claiming, “We may soon attack Mount Kolang in Iran.” Based on data published by Mehr News Agency, quoting Al Jazeera network, Trump added, “We know all of Iran’s movements and are inflicting heavy blows upon it.” Speaking in a manner apparently aimed at appeasing domestic opposition to war with Iran, the U.S. President stated, “We are not currently at war.” Trump also repeated his remarks regarding the Strait of Hormuz, asserting, “We control the Strait of Hormuz, and there are no naval mines in this strait.” He further claimed that numerous alternative options exist for replacing the Strait of Hormuz, and that oil-carrying trucks are being rerouted through Syria. This assertion comes despite the significantly higher cost of land-based oil transportation compared to sea routes. He also claimed that a large number of oil pipelines are under construction in the Middle East region.

Regarding Russia, Trump announced that his son-in-law and advisor, Jared Kushner, and his special envoy for Middle East affairs, Steve Witkoff, will carry a proposal to end the war in Ukraine during their visit to Russia. In another part of his remarks concerning Russia, he stated that President Vladimir Putin would not attack NATO member states.
