North Korea Threatens Strong Response to US, South Korea, Japan Military Drills
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, North Korea‘s new Defense Minister has stated that Pyongyang will respond if Washington and its allies attempt to initiate a new military confrontation, promising strong reciprocal actions.
The new Defense Minister of North Korea, Kim Song-chol, described the joint military exercises conducted by South Korea, Japan, and the United States as a provocative act, according to the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
This comes as South Korea, the United States, and Japan commenced a five-day joint military exercise on Monday.
The multinational exercise, dubbed ‘Freedom Edge,’ began in international waters east and south of Jeju Island, located south of South Korea, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean military.
The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff announced in a statement that the three nations will utilize this exercise to enhance their operational capabilities and joint response capacities across various domains, including maritime, air, and cyber.
