Argentina’s ‘Trump’ Echoes Israeli Minister’s Call for Falklands Sovereignty and UK Sanctions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Argentine President Javier Milei, widely referred to as the ‘Trump of Argentina,’ has shared a post by Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israeli Minister of Internal Security. In his original post, Ben-Gvir called for the recognition of Argentine sovereignty over the disputed Falkland Islands and urged for sanctions against the United Kingdom.
This statement by Ben-Gvir emerged following reports indicating the UK’s intention to implement extensive sanctions against Israeli settlers in the West Bank. Concurrently, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich had called for the expulsion of the British ambassador.
The United Kingdom and Argentina maintain differing claims over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands. Notably, a recent oil exploration project has been proposed by the UK in the vicinity of the islands’ coast.
