Israel Fears Yemeni Control of Strategic Mokha Port

The Israeli military radio has acknowledged that Yemen’s successful territorial gains along the Red Sea coast enhance its control over the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, potentially bolstering a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, the Suez Canal, and Israel’s Eilat port. Unconfirmed reports suggest Yemeni forces have fully seized the vital Mokha port.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Israeli military radio has acknowledged that Yemen‘s successful territorial gains along the Red Sea coast are strengthening its control over the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. This development, reported by Mehr News Agency citing Al Mayadeen, suggests that these advances will enable Yemeni armed forces to impose a maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia, the Suez Canal, and Israel’s Eilat port in the south.

Israeli media outlets have also reacted to the imminent control of the strategic Mokha port by Yemeni forces, stating that its position allows them to create a new and deadly bottleneck at the entrance to the Red Sea. These outlets added that the location of Mokha port enables the Yemeni armed forces to monitor ships from long distances and prepare for operations to be carried out at the opportune moment.

Unconfirmed news has emerged regarding the complete control of the strategic Mokha port in the western Taiz province and along the Red Sea coast by the Yemeni armed forces.
