Russia Reports Capture of New Settlement in Kharkiv Region

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian forces have taken control of the settlement of Chernyakhovka in the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine, simultaneously intensifying efforts to encircle Ukrainian units in the area. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that units from the “North” group secured Chernyakhovka after repelling Ukrainian forces. The ministry also stated that Russian forces thwarted Ukrainian army attempts to break the encirclement near the settlements of Selyunevo and Gogino.

The Russian Ministry of Defense indicated that its forces are expanding the encirclement and engagement zone around Olkhovatka. Reports suggest that Ukrainian forces lost 55 soldiers and one ground robotic system in the past 24 hours. Additionally, Russian air defenses reportedly intercepted seven guided bombs, two American HIMARS missiles, and 902 Ukrainian drones within the same 24-hour period.
